Mounts Bay Sailing club is a dinghy-focussed sailing club on the Swan River in Perth with expansive views across to the CBD. We have 300 members including a rapidly growing number of juniors.

We run various programs including adult and junior Learn to Sail courses, junior fleet training, social sailing, competitive sailing, and are guiding some members in elite pathways. The vast majority of our club is run by volunteers.

Membership numbers are increasing but, nevertheless, we require a significant input from members (fees, fundraising, canteen etc) to cover operating costs.

We need to fundraise to buy capital items.

As such, we are seeking donations to fund the growth in our club, specifically:

• To buy and maintain further boats to the club’s fleet of junior-age dinghies including Optimists, Open Bics and Flying Ants;
• To periodically replace and / or overhaul the club’s fleet of safety boats
• To purchase a designated Start Boat for the club, including necessary starting equipment (radios, flags, buoys) for use in club regattas

This project is run in partnership with the Australian Sports Foundation (Foundation) so our donors can receive tax deductions for their donations. The Foundation (ABN 27 008 613 858) was established by the Australian Government to raise funds through public and corporate donations for the development of sport in Australia. The Foundation’s listing in the Income Tax Assessment Act (1997) (subdivision 30-B, s30-90) means donations to our project of $2 or more are tax deductible.
