Visit websiteGlenelg ANA Cricket Club was founded in 1953 by Bob White, who together with his mates, created a team and joined the Australian Natives Association (ANA) as the Tigers.
Our club has a great history of success, which came early with the first premiership in the 1960/61 season. Across our almost 80-year history, we have won a total of 17 Premierships. Success in many cases has come in the highest divisions of the associations we have played in, including five (5) premierships in Section 1 of the Adelaide and Suburban Cricket Association (ASCA).
In 2017, to align with our football and netball club partners, in Plympton High Old Scholars and Camden Football and Netball Clubs (aka PHOS Camden), we changed our playing name to Phantoms Cricket, as well as re-establishing a juniors program.
In 2019 we expanded to include a social women's team, who are currently back-to-back Premiers in the Social 12's competition.
In 2019/20, we commenced playing 20/20 games at the recently renovated Camden Oval, where with the assistance of South Australian Cricket Association (SACA) and the City of West Torrens, Phantoms Cricket were able to move in and start training at the newly three (3) constructed nets.
For the 2022/23 cricket season, the Phantoms Cricket Club is looking at having three (3) senior men's teams compete within the ASCA; along with 8-9 junior teams competing in the Western Suburbs Junior Cricket Association (WSJCA), including our very first junior girls team.
Members of the Phantoms Cricket Club are continually looking at ways the club can grow to strengthen its position within the surrounding communities. The club has recently felt that it could do a better job in keeping its members updated with scores from all grades during each weekend of the Cricket season. We understand that not all of our members are able to physically attend games on a weekly basis; but how do we keep them updated with what is happening on the field?
The Phantoms Cricket Club feels as though the answer to the above is through the purchase of a Frogbox device. A Frogbox device allows for the recording of live cricket matches (audio and visual stream) that sync with the MyCricket and PlayHQ applications, and will be able to provide live scores as the play is unfolding to members who are at home on the couch, or are interstate/overseas.
