Queer Sporting Alliance (QSA) is Australia’s premier LGBTIQA+ sporting organisation, working to remove the barriers that prevent queer people from enjoying community sport. We believe everyone deserves a safer, welcoming space to play, connect, and belong regardless of gender, sexuality, or financial situation.

What We Do

QSA runs programs across Australia that create opportunities for people to play sport,  build friendships, and be part of a supportive community:

·       Q League – A world first mixed sports league with non-gendered rules. Featuring basketball, netball, futsal, and pickleball. Q League is changing the game by prioritising fun over winning and welcoming people of all gender identities and abilities who often feel left out of traditional team sporting environments.

·       Little Help Program – Because sport should be accessible, QSA’s Little Help program provides financial support to cover registration fees, uniforms, and other costs for members who are experiencing financial hardships.

·       QSA Rollers – Regular roller skating sessions and themed ‘roller discos,’ complete with coaching and access to skating equipment, helping more people experience the joy of movement.

·       QSA Basketball Teams – Across the country, QSA supports social basketball teams by handling administration, covering forfeit fees, and providing financial help where needed.

·       National Sports Tournament (NST) – The largest queer multi-sport community tournament in Australia. A celebration of sport, connection, and pride.

Why We Care

Sport builds confidence, friendship, and wellbeing but too many LGBTIQA+ people have been left out or made to feel unsafe. QSA exists to change that. Every game, league, and event we run helps create a sporting culture where everyone feels they belong and can show up as themselves.
