Building the Blues – Completing the Vision

Over the past decade, the redevelopment of Unley Oval has transformed our home into one of the premier sporting venues in South Australia. With modern training facilities, administration offices, outstanding match day amenities, and a vibrant community function space, Sturt Football Club has become a true destination club.

The permanent perimeter fence at Unley Oval has now been constructed, providing the finishing touch to a redevelopment journey that has enhanced what is widely regarded as the most picturesque oval in the SANFL competition.

A Project That Delivers Lasting Benefits

The completion of the fence represents far more than a physical improvement. It is an investment in the long-term sustainability of our Club and the future of football at Unley Oval.

The project will:

• Eliminate the significant annual costs associated with temporary fencing hire and installation.

• Allow Sturt Football Club to generate vital match day revenue from SANFLW fixtures, aligning us with every other SANFL club.

• Improve safety for volunteers, staff, players and spectators.

• Enhance the overall match day experience for members and visitors.

• Ensure Unley Oval remains one of the leading community and sporting venues in South Australia for generations to come.

While the project is now complete, it was only possible because Sturt Football Club committed $360,000 towards the total project cost of $550,000.

Your Support Still Matters

The Board made the decision to invest heavily in this project because of the long-term benefits it will provide to the Club, our members, our players and the broader community.

However, this significant contribution has come at a cost.

Funds directed towards the fence could otherwise have been invested into our football programs, talent pathways, women's football, community initiatives and future facility improvements.
