The Sue Sofarnos Foundation was established in honour of the late Sue ‘Melli’ Sofarnos OAM with the purpose of supporting the Australian Women’s Lacrosse Team, today and into the future. 

Posthumously, we aim to fulfil Sue’s dream of providing holistic & sustained support including (but not limited to):

(1)   financial support to selected members of the Australian Women’s Lacrosse Team;

(2)   mentoring, networking, education and professional development opportunities for women in lacrosse;

(3)   challenge attitudes and to work to change behaviour towards and about girls and women in lacrosse; 

(4)   push for greater representation of women at executive and management levels of the game of lacrosse;

(5)   advocate and lobby for women who are willing to serve on volunteer or professional lacrosse Boards;

(6)   celebrate the achievements of women in lacrosse, and 

(7)   collaborate with formal and informal, professional and volunteer organisations in lacrosse by sharing our experience and expertise.
