Your club

Club Tocumwal is the social and community hub of our ever-growing community which ties together much of our social fabric and plays an important part in the health, well-being, and economy of our local community. Your club is one of the largest not-for-profit sporting clubs in the region and has played a significant role in our community for generations.

As part of the club’s long term future proofing, the club has diagnosed significant challenges and stresses of its ageing infrastructure, inadequate amenities, and inefficiencies. The clubhouse facility no longer serves the priorities of its growing membership and fails to meet expectations and needs of visitors and community user groups.

The club has committed to undertake a $7.5 million redevelopment of its clubhouse to address this need. As part of its Funding Strategy, the club has launched a Capital Appeal for this important infrastructure project, with the goal to raise $1 million to achieve and realise your expectations.

The Project

Club Tocumwal’s board and management are committed to building a financially sustainable club, and this includes investment in excellent facilities for members, visitors, local families and community groups. They also encourage and source additional revenue opportunities so it can continue to invest in further development.

The new facility will see over 100,000 visitations a year, including golf, bowls and non-sporting patrons, aiming to create a community hub where people can come to share experiences, participate in sport, enjoy and socialise, all whilst achieving improved health and well-being. 

Youth is the future of Club Tocumwal and part of our renovation plans includes the creation and introduction of the Southern Riverina Junior Golf academy. This learning and training space is part of our development, will be run by our training golf professionals and offers a pathway for the youth of our community to achieve and learn.

The academy will be a place to nurture young people of all socioeconomic advantage and cultural backgrounds to learn and be coached in a safe environment that leads to pathways for sport, employment, health and well-being.  

Club Tocumwal has developed a master plan for our amazing golf courses. These adopted plans when enacted will delete some existing problems from the original infrastructure but also contemporise and rejuvenate the course whilst creating challenges for the elite and ease of play for the enthusiast.

For our bowling community Club Tocumwal has already installed 2 state of the art surfaces and will now finish off the amalgamation with the Tocumwal Bowls club from 2016 with amenities, food and beverage, and shaded seating areas.

Regionally, this project aims to support economic and workforce development, secure local service providers and provide a better service for those that live in the community and their families.

Costs

Total cost of the project is $8 million.

• Club Tocumwal is contributing $3.5 million of its own capital towards the project.
• $3.5 million contribution has been made by the NSW Government through its Multi-Sport Fund
• The remaining $1 million will be funded through the club's Capital Fundraising Appeal and supported through lending where needed.

Your board and management have done an amazing job in securing $3.5 mil in grant funding from the state government with an incredible application in an incredibly competitive market.
