Townsville Sailing Club—one of the city’s oldest and most enduring sporting organisations—has been nurturing sailors of all ages for generations. As one of the first clubs established in Townsville, our history is long and proud, but our future now depends on modernising the heart of our training program: our boats.

We are launching a focused fundraising campaign to upgrade our ageing training fleet. These vessels are the backbone of our learn‑to‑sail programs, junior development pathways, and community training sessions. Reliable, high‑quality boats allow our instructors to teach safely and effectively, give new sailors the confidence to progress, and help experienced athletes refine their skills.

With Townsville being discussed as a potential venue for Olympic Sailing in 2032, the need for modern training boats has never been more pressing. A refreshed fleet will not only raise the standard of local training but also position our club as a key contributor to the region’s Olympic‑level readiness. Upgraded boats will help us attract new members, retain developing sailors, and ensure Townsville continues to be a vibrant hub for the sport.
