    ABOUT Brodie Ardley-Fitzgerald

    Shepparton, VIC

    Hi, I'm Brodie

I'm a proud Australian Para-Taekwondo athlete working towards representing Australia in Poomsae.

I am Autistic (Level 3), have a Moderate Intellectual Disability and ADHD, and Taekwondo has given me the opportunity to show that people with unseen disabilities are capable of achieving great things through sport.

I'm currently preparing to compete at the Para Taekwondo World Championships, which will be held in a country yet to be announced in early September 2026. Before that, I need to compete at the VIC State Championships at the end of August 2026 to qualify for the Australian National Championships, which will be held from 1–4 October 2026. These competitions are important milestones on my journey towards representing Australia on the international stage.

Reaching the Nationals is my opportunity to qualify for the Virtus Games in Bangkok in February/March 2027.

Training and competing at this level takes dedication, time and significant financial support. I train hard to continually improve my skills, build confidence and perform at my best. As I require a carer to travel and compete with me, the costs of attending competitions are significantly higher than they are for many athletes.

Your donation will help cover the costs of:

    • Specialised training and competition preparation
    • Coaching and ongoing athlete development
    • Entry fees for qualifying competitions
    • Travel and accommodation for both me and my carer
    • Competition uniforms and equipment
    • Other essential competition expenses

Taekwondo has become much more than a sport to me. It has given me confidence, discipline, community and purpose. Through Para-Taekwondo, I hope to inspire others to believe in themselves, challenge perceptions around disability and encourage greater inclusion in sport.

Every contribution, no matter the size, helps remove financial barriers so I can focus on training, competing and achieving my best. With your support, I can continue my journey towards representing Australia while helping show the next generation of para-athletes that anything is possible.

Thank you for believing in me and supporting my journey. Your generosity is helping me pursue my dream while proving that disability should never define what someone can achieve.
