    ABOUT Connor OBrien

    Bendigo, VIC

From the moment I legally qualified to get my firearm license at the age of 12,I knew shooting sports would become a huge part of my life.Starting at the Bendigo Clay Target Club,I worked my way up from C grade to AAgrade across multiple disciplines DTL,TOWER,SPORTING AND AMERICAN SKEET - before committing to ISSF Olympic Skeet ,where I now channel all of my energy and focus.

Beyond the technical skill, this sport has taught me values- discipline, respect, humility and given me a deep connection to a community of shooters, mentors, and supporters. It’s a community that’s shaped who I am and what I want to represent.

MY JOURNEY: 2023 was a defining year for both in sport and life. I competed against the best shooters in Australia, which was incredible, but I also had to learn how to navigate grief and personal loss. Through that, I discovered a deeper resilience in myself.

I was proud to bring home a Bronze in Open Men and Gold in Junior at the Oceania Titles ,setting a new Oceania Junior Record. But beyond medals it was the team environment, the mental fortitude and the sheer thrill of representing Australia that stuck with me.

VISION AND GOALS : My vision is simple but bold to represent Australia at the Olympic Games in 2028 (LA) and 2032 (Brisbane).Along the way ,I’m targeting selection for the 2025 World Cup Team ( Peru,Argentina,Cyprus,Lonato) and 2025 World Championship Team ( Malaska Greece). These are not overnight goals. They’re part of the long term commitment I’ve made to myself ,my sport ,and now to those who believe in me. I understand that getting there means daily discipline, sacrifice, and believing in the small steps that lead to big outcomes.

WHY I NEED SUPPORT : I’m lucky to have support from Shooting Australia but like many sports, funding only really kicks in after big wins. To get those wins I need to be competing, training, learning and that costs real money. Ammunition, targets, equipment, coaching, fuel, flights and accommodation it adds up fast. Just to train I drive five hour round trip That’s my level of commitment. I’m not asking for shortcuts. I’m asking for help to stay on the path that leads to long-term success and Olympic selection

HOW YOU CAN HELP : I’m inviting local businesses ,supporters and community leaders to invest in this journey. Whether that’s a one-off contribution or ongoing support, every dollar makes a difference.

: In return I’d be honoured to- Represent your brand with pride on social media and in competition.

:Advocate for your business within the community I’m so proud to represent.

THANK YOU - There’s nothing I want more than to represent Australia,my family and my community on the world stage. If you’re reading this thank you for your time, your interest and possibly your support.
