My name is Erin Brunello. My passion in sport started in the Australian Gymnastics Levels Program, and I have recently been accepted into the Olympic Winter Institute of Australia aerial skiing development program. The skills I’ve gained in gymnastics have carried over into aerial skiing, a sport that challenges me to take everything I’ve learned in the gym and apply it in the air. Balancing both gymnastics and aerials isn’t easy, but they are both essential for me to achieve my dreams.  

One of my biggest goals is my first international trip with aerial skiing. Training overseas alongside older athletes will teach me valuable lessons in independence and teamwork. The prospect of this camp has motivated me to work even harder to reach my goals and prepare to travel to Canada in March 2026.  

Last year I competed in the level 7 border challenge team, placing 2nd on floor, 1st on vault, 5th on beam and my team placing 2nd overall. I also placed first in every apparatus in the Queensland state titles last year. This year I am looking forward to taking the next step in my gymnastics journey. I’m aiming to be selected as part of the Level 8 Queensland gymnastics team and compete at the Australian National Titles. Achieving this goal would be a huge step in my development, representing the countless hours of training and resilience I’ve put into both gymnastics and aerial skiing.  

Pursuing two high-performance sports comes with big challenges, from training costs to travel and competition expenses. There is no financial support in gymnastics and very little in aerial skiing until athletes are accepted into the VIS scholarship program, which I am working toward. Your support will help me access the coaching, equipment, and opportunities I need to keep progressing.
