ABOUT Indigo Ellis
Indigo Ellis - Aiming High
My name is Indigo Ellis, I am 12 and an aspiring show jumper based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. For the last 12 months I have been competing in different events 2-4 times a month to gain the experience and qualifiers to ride at a National level. I recently placed second at my first ever QLD Pony Club States Championships as a 12&Under rider in the highest class allowed for my age group which has qualified me to compete at Pony Club Nationals at Werribee Victoria in October 2025. My goal for 2025 is to not only compete at the Pony Club National Championships in Werribee, but also the Children’s Class (14 and under) at the Australian Jumping Championships at Boneo Park on the Mornington Peninsula.
Why Support Me?
I am a dedicated athlete and a proud ambassador for my sport and community. I always try to perform to the best of my ability and take every opportunity to learn from each experience. Horse welfare is extremely important to me and I always prioritise my equine athletes' needs. My local community knows me as the kid who is always encouraging and cheering on other competitors as well as being there to help out in whatever way is needed whether it is setting up, baking cookies for the canteen, or packing away at the end of events.
Reason for Fundraising:
I hope to remain in Victoria for the month between these two events to train and compete at different shows and competitions. I am hoping to secure donations for fuel, travel costs and training to support me on my showjumping journey. It is substantial physical and financial commitment to compete with multiple horses at multiple competitions across Queensland and interstate. I am seeking the support of both local businesses and individuals to help cover these expenses and any support is greatly appreciated not matter how small a donation.
I am hoping to raise funds in the local community with different endeavours, events and activities, seek sponsorship for my horses' feed and gear and raise awareness of Off The Track Racehorse re-homing as well because one of my horses, Gina, is an OTT. I help care for other OTT racehorses, some of which have required surgeries and rehabilitation, so that they can have a good life after retiring from racing with all their health and welfare needs being met. I hope to one day study to be a veterinarian so that I can help provide ongoing care for these animals that I love and to support my passion as a rider in partnership with my equine athletes.
