ABOUT JUSTEEN KRUGER
I'm Justeen, and I'm thrilled to be representing Australia as a Deaf Koala at the 2025 Deaflympics in Japan this coming November. I've proudly represented Australia twice in 2024, and now I'm determined to achieve the ultimate goal for any deaf athlete: competing at the Deaflympics.
I'm proud to be part of the Aussie Athlete Fund's Million Dollar Challenge powered by Australian Sports Foundation. The Challenge aims to pair 100 athletes with 100 businesses with the purpose of raising $10,000 for the athlete, aiming for a collective $1 Million to support our sporting dreams.
Competing internationally is incredibly challenging, both physically and financially. Many of us rely on fundraising to represent Australia on the global stage. The $1 Million Challenge, driven by 5-time Olympian Nat Cook OAM, helps break down athletes' financial barriers by providing fundraising education and assistance from businesses and/or employees of businesses/
The journey to international competition for a deaf athlete like myself is challenging, particularly financially. As I am fully self-funded, I rely heavily on the generosity of supporters to cover essential costs such as training camps, travel, accommodation, and equipment – all of which are crucial for my preparation and success. Competing at the world stage incurs significant expenses, and any donation you can make, big or small, will significantly impact my journey.
Your support will enable me to attend vital training camps and experience the Deaflympics, where I can showcase my skills, connect with fellow athletes from around the world, and proudly represent Australia.
