ABOUT JUSTEEN KRUGER
In 2025, I achieved the ultimate dream for a deaf athlete by representing Australia at the Deaflympics. Wearing the green and gold was more than a personal milestone — it was a statement about visibility, resilience, and what’s possible for athletes with a disability.
Now, I’m raising funds to continue that journey as we build toward the Deaf World Cup in Sydney in 2027.
I am also proud to be part of the Aussie Athlete Fund, backed by 5-time Olympian Natalie Cook. This initiative supports Australian athletes in breaking down financial barriers to international competition by connecting us with businesses and community supporters who believe in investing in sporting dreams.
like many athletes, I have a job; work full time to afford my mortgage and allow me to fund my sporting ambitions coach academy female goalkeepers and fit my training ang gym sessions around this all. competition and training camp attendance is dependant on having enough savings to cover the athlete fees of attending such camps and tournaments. As a fully self-funded athlete, I need to take unpaid leave to be able to attend training and selection camps and competing internationally comes with significant costs — training camps, specialist strength and conditioning support, travel, accommodation, uniforms, and equipment. Every dollar raised directly supports my preparation and ability to compete at the highest level. this is where fundraising and your support comes more and more important. Without your help, the help of businesses and fundraising and the ASF many athletes could not afford to live and compete
But this is about more than football.
As a hearing-impaired athlete who has represented Australia, I care deeply about creating pathways for the next generation. I am also a goalkeeper coach working with female athletes from juniors through to seniors, and I actively advocate for inclusion and diversity in community sport. When I step onto the field, I represent not only my country, but the deaf community and every young athlete who needs to see that barriers can be broken.
Through the Australian Sports Foundation, donations are tax deductible and directly contribute to my training and competition expenses. My plan is simple: train at an elite level, attend national camps, compete internationally, and continue using my platform to promote inclusive sport across Australia.
Your support helps me:
• Attend national and international training camps
• Cover travel and accommodation for qualifiers and world events
• Access high-performance coaching and preparation
• Represent Australia with pride on the world stage
Every contribution, big or small, makes a tangible difference.
Together, we can champion inclusion, break down barriers, and show what’s possible
