ABOUT Kimberley King

I have loved touch football for most of my life, and representing Australia was a dream I had from a young age.

Now, at 42, I have been given an opportunity I honestly never expected would come… I have been selected to represent Australia in the Women’s 40s at the 2026 Asia Pacific Championships in Utsunomiya, Japan. 🇦🇺🇯🇵

This will be my first Australian jersey, and pulling it on will mean more to me than I can probably put into words.

The journey hasn’t always been straightforward. There have been setbacks, missed selections and times when life took me in other directions. Living regionally, study, raising three kids, work, finances and unexpected health challenges have all been part of the journey. But one thing has remained constant… I absolutely love playing touch football.

One of the things that makes this opportunity so special is being able to show my own kids, and hopefully others, that there isn’t an age limit on chasing something that matters to you. You don’t have to make the team as a kid or a teenager for the dream to be over. Sometimes the opportunity comes much later than you imagined.

Keep doing what you love, keep putting yourself out there and don’t give up on something just because it hasn’t happened yet.💚💛

Representing Australia is an incredible honour, but it also comes with significant self-funded costs, including travel, accommodation, tournament and representative expenses. I’m fundraising to help offset some of those costs as I prepare to travel to Japan and represent my country.

Any contribution, no matter the size, is genuinely appreciated. And if donating isn’t possible, simply sharing my page or following along with the journey means just as much.

Thank you for supporting me and for being part of my journey. It genuinely means the world to me. 💚💛🇦🇺
