ABOUT Yuxin Yang
Yuxin’s kayaking journey began at Strathcona Girls Grammar, where a school kayaking program first introduced her to the sport. What started as a new challenge quickly turned into a passion. Her dedication and natural talent caught the attention of coaches, and soon after, she joined the Fairfield Junior Sprint Team.
Through countless early mornings, intensive training sessions, and weekends spent on the water, Yuxin rose through the competitive ranks, earning medals and titles in both state and national level competitions.
In April 2025, Yuxin competed in the Paddle Australia Canoe Marathon and SUP Championships in Perth, racing in the U18 division despite being only 15. After her chaotic and remarkably long race, she and her partner won first place in the ICF K2 Doubles, earning them both a place on the Australian Junior Team for the upcoming World Championships.
Yuxin is now preparing to represent Australia on the world stage at the 2025 ICF Canoe Marathon World Championships in September in Gyor, Hungary. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity, but it comes with significant financial costs, including:
- Travel & accommodation
- Entry fees & team uniforms
- Cost of equipment (hiring)
Every dollar counts towards the goal of $5000 in helping Yuxin chase her dreams in wearing the green and gold colours with pride. By supporting her campaign, you're not just funding a trip, you're investing in the future of Australian sport and empowering a young athlete who’s shown immense dedication, grit, and humility.
