Why EOFY Matters

EOFY is the most important fundraising period of the year for sport. Here's why:

  • 50% of all donations to sport happen between April and June.

Your EOFY Fundraising Action Plan

Use this playbook to make the most of the weeks before June 30.

1. Refresh your fundraising page

Start by making sure your campaign clearly explains what you're raising funds for.

Check that your page:

  • Outlines what the funds will be used for
  • Includes photos of your team, club or training
  • Clearly shows the impact of donations
  • Shares specific examples of what donations will fund

For athletes, this could include training, travel or competition costs.

For clubs, it could include equipment, facilities or development programs.

2. Tell your story again

Your supporters may not have seen your campaign the first time, and many give when they’re reminded how their support can help.

Share your story and how donor support is making your goal possible.

You could include:

  • Why your club or sporting journey matters
  • How their donation will make a positive difference to you or your club
  • The impact of their donation with simple “dollar handles” (e.g. $20 helps contribute to new equipment)

Authentic stories help supporters feel connected to your cause.

3. Ask your network directly

Most donations happen when someone asks directly.

Reach out to:

  • Friends and family
  • Club members and supporters
  • Your local community
  • Local businesses

Always include the link to your fundraising page so people can easily donate.

4. Post regularly until June 30

Regular reminders help keep your campaign top of mind.

Share updates such as:

  • Progress toward your fundraising goal
  • Training or competition updates
  • Team milestones
  • Why the club or sport matters to you
  • What donations have helped fund (e.g. new equipment)

A simple reminder can reach people who missed your earlier posts or couldn’t donate at the time.

5. Thank every donor
