Almost half of elite athletes are earning incomes of less than $23,000 per year, effectively placing them below the national poverty line.

Many of our Olympians competing at Paris 2024 will be self-funding their journey, with 77% of elite athletes in Australia having to work jobs in addition to their sporting careers to support their dreams.

    Set to make her Olympic debut at Paris 2024, Cara has come third at nationals and second at the Oceania Championships throughout the year.

    After competing at Tokyo 2020, in June Izzi ran the 5000m in 14:49.75, the 4th fastest in Australian history, and qualified for Paris 2024.
